Norden
Is this gripper close some kind of a joke? I have never ever seen or heard anyone even mention it either, which is really really weird to me as it's easily the most impressive gripper close I have ever seen. http://www.gripboard.com/index.php?app=galleryℑ=4490 Edited February 27, 2014 by Norden
Norden
How can anyone question *** ******s (Sauron, Lord Voldemort, the name that should not be spoken) #4 close after seeing this feat from another guy of non mythical proportions? RTvG
For some reason I can't see the vid. Im not sure what you are saying either. Tommy Heslep is no joke. This guy has done, and still does, numerous incredible feats. You are not talking about the Silverback dude right? Edit: Ah, nevermind. Got it. Still, If you're not familiar with Tommy's feats, look at the #4 list, check Guinness record book, ask him about some planes trying to take off and try some Heslep style bending, to name a few! Cannon
Tommy's close has been out there for years. That SE was a special cert gripper that Tetting made for people. He would adjust the spread for your hand size, and Tommy's hands are not large, so that was a fairly narrow gripper. Having said that, a narrow SE is still going to be in the range of 160-170lbs (keeping in mind they used to be lighter in general than the 190# monsters that are run-of-the-mill today). It's an epic close by Tommy.
Jedd Johnson
Always take the year the gripper was made into consideration at the very least. Many of these gripper companies have been around for a long time and their grippers have varied in strength a great deal, although the names of the grippers have not changed. Still Tommy Heslep has an awesome Crush, even though this sounds like it is an older version of the SE.

Yeah, I know alot about him and I've been mailing/chatting with him, but I have never seen this video myself or even heard of this close. I just found that really weird.

Tim71
There was a thread years ago and Tommy commented on it and he didn't try to pass it off as a normal gripper spread. He said it was a narrow and I think he said the spread was 2.5 or slightly narrower. Tommy is an incredible person either way and outstanding all around gripster. We would need to find the thread to be sure, but if my memory is not failing me, the spread was supossed to be 2-5/8".

1stCoC
Tommy was a super strong crusher. I met him once at at a NC contest and we became instant friends ,he gave me a pinch block I lifted as a gift that I will always treasure. I saw him a second time at the Nationals with Jedd and all the contestants had a deep set try at the Phantom 4 . Morton closed it and Tommy came within a hair of success. Pound for pound like Andrew Durniat right at the very top of the heap. Wonderful strength.
