truth1ness
I'm curious, do you position/use your thumb differently with inverse gripper closes? I notice when holding the gripper upside down it's quite a bit harder to position it in a way where the gripper isn't right on and tearing up your thumb webbing. I find I can't really bring my thumb opposite my fingers and really drive it across and help pull my fingers in like I can holding it the standard way without getting my thumb web all over the handle and hurting. I almost have to put it more in a 'thumbs up' or monkey grip position and just let it hang out, still contracting the pad muscle but not really jutting that thumb forward. For example, I looked up some videos to see how people are positioning and there seems to be some variation. This guy and this guy, for example, basically monkey grip the gripper to avoid the whole thumb web together. This guy, however, doesn't do it as much and has the handle sink all the way down into the thumb web (particularly on the left hand closes) and when I do that it's pretty painful. Inverse closes feel a bit more finger dominant to me as a result and I'm quite a bit weaker on them (though still pretty new to them), kind of like holding a bar without using the thumbs.
