Chez
Dang. There isn't much more room left on the bar. If he gets any stronger hes going to need to buy those 100lb weight plates. 1 Quote "A lot of men train to be pretty, I train to be the strongest man in the world, then again I'm already pretty." -Magnus Samuelsson "You don't have to be fat to be strong!" - Svend Karlsen "I know it doesn't just come from playing with yourself" - Svend Karlsen talking to Magnus Samuelsson about closing the COC #4. Guest Squat More
wow. look at the flex in the bar And he grips it wide too, it'd probably be a lot more pronounced and look even more freakish if he had a closer stance and grip. I wonder what kind of DL bar that is? Obviously a DL bar with the lack of center knurling. Crazy strength.

I think he's actually a credit to what we do, in contrast to a lot of celebrities who "train" I agree. He seems to be interested in not just looking good but actually being strong and fit as well. He's not just 'pumping up' for the camera. I just think he's being a bit over the top with his comments. What was even worse, was I was driving to work the other day, and some radio commentators were saying "oh, he's going to ruin his back doing that, etc. etc." and completely making up their own 'science' on spine health. At this rate, I wonder how much Brian will be pulling in another year or two. He's going to be giving Bennie and Andy some competition for heaviest DL. fischmäc
I´d really like that he makes for a competition with Benni. As I am a big fan of him I guess this is what he (Benni) would need to make another big effort to get the world record higher again. Otherwise I have the impression that he wouldn´t feel challenged and so why should he make the effort.
bubba29
The depth in his set up is a testament to strongman training. Not many men his size (6'8" ~400) and strength are that flexible. He just recently went to a meet for the first time since his injury and he pulled 400kg easy. Made it look pretty casual. I think he'll pull another world record Quote Wayne Mealy Jr. http://youtube.com/waynedoeswork
blueviper42
Fun fact, I accidentally took Benedikt Magnusson's sink in a bathroom. He was walking towards it, and I was in a hurry and beat him to it. Didn't even see who it was until after I had washed my hands. This was when he set the world record. I had no idea he was even at that event until then.
Stephen Ruby
One of the strongest men of all time! I can't wait to see him go head to head with big z again. I also am super impressed again not just with the weight-which is obviously superhuman- since I know now not to be shocked by what this man can do but still at how low he can get at the start of the pull. I am 2 inches shorter and near 100lbs smaller but I struggle to get a good starting position like he does. I also wonder if he likes the wider set up not just to get lower but since it might mimic stones and other strongman events I don't think he anytime soon will try to go for a world record in the deadlift since he has had bicep issues in the past and I don't think I have ever seen him try a mixed grip. It is different and might be risky to him to have a serious injury that could hurt his strongman training. It is different and might be risky to him to have a serious injury that could hurt his strongman training. I agree with this. Deadlifting for strongman and deadlifting for powerlifting are two different animals. One obviously allows the use of straps and hitching and one doesn't. It's not that someone like Brian couldn't train for a powerlifting meet and challenge the world record, but my guess is that it would require a focus that would detract from his strongman training, which is his livelihood. I'm sure this is the same reason we don't see all the top level strongmen competing in grip or bending steel because if it's not directly helping their strongman career and/or poses an unnecessary risk of injury then they will probably avoid it. 1 Quote John Wojciechowski, CSCS New Jersey, USA Owner of Metabolic Functional Fitness Author of Better Body Basics
