mightyjoe
I dedicated this video to my dear friend Richard Sorin today to hopefully try and raise his spirits a little and let him know we support him and care about him and his well being. I admit this is not my best performance on this type of conditioning circuit but I was doing it regardless of how I felt today! If Richard can struggle like he does to get better then how can I complain or make excuses of any kind? Richard is lucky he's alive and he took a worse fall than I believe he claims. The man wants no sympathy and he's hard core to the bone! With his determination and strong will Richard will come back stronger than ever! Bill Piche, I don't think you'll ever realize the magnitude of what you've done with the creation of the Grip Board and if wasn't for this board I would not be able to post this video! Thanks a Million Bill! Hope you enjoy the video! Happy Memorial Day my Grip Friends!!!
EricMilfeld
That looked to be an effective, brief, and intense little workout. Good stuff, Joe.
burpsan
Some serious wind there, Joe! Probably worth a couple extra pounds running into it, eh?!

GatorGrip
Way to practice what you preach Joe- Solid performance, I would be back in shape in no time if I was doing that every day or so...Great job and dedication to Mr. Sorin! As for Richard I will pray for his speedy recovery and comeback to where he feels he needs to be for himself....
mightyjoe
That looked to be an effective, brief, and intense little workout. Good stuff, Joe. Thank you Eric! I do this circuit twice a week but it varies every time. For example, if I want to hit the forearms that day I perform wrist curls as I drag the sled backwards with the revolving DL handles. The so many variations one can do with a sled that it becomes a staple in one's conditioning training once they try and use a sled. The 3 and 4 inch hand grenades are hard to beat to beef up ones hypo thenar muscles of the thumb which help establish a solid base for hard gripper closes. really pumps the thumb up and it's always sore the next day! I do 12-15 minutes with the sled and equal amount of time with the War Hammer. I use the time it takes me to switch implements as my rest intervals between sets. Works really well! The day previous to this video I trained one of my female athletes who is a high level athlete and she loves competition and insists I perform sled work with her to push her so I was not yet recovered from that intense session. No excuse! Just saying.

The least I could do for Richard as he would do anything for me as well! My interest in grip started in 1979 along with my arm wrestling career and it was mainly hand grippers and various ways to work the hands, wrist, and forearms. This is when I was a huge fan of the legendary Bruce White. The wheat farmer from Austria (Australia?) who inspired so many people! But it was in 1991 when I learned of Richard Sorin and then contacted him by phone and the rest is history! Richard gave me my first real introduction into Grip at that time and he's inspired me ever since! I remember talking with Dr. Terry Todd over the phone about a guy with a ferocious grip and could close a #3 gripper and Terry said he would love to meet this guy (Richard Sorin)! Ironically, about a month later Richard goes to Austin Texas for business and stops by the Stark Museum to visit Terry Todd and BAM! Now we have the Mighty Mitts Competition because of the visit Richard made to the Stark Center Museum. The two have now become very close friends with a mutual passion for all things Grip and Iron related!!! Nice job Joe! Some hard work going on there! Thank you Bill! Much appreciated! mightyjoe
Some serious wind there, Joe! Probably worth a couple extra pounds running into it, eh?! The wind was horrible indeed! I had intended to do this Sunday but the wind was really bad and when Monday came around and it was even worse I decided wind or not this video is going down! The sled felt 25 lbs heavier due to the wind! I'm serious! Wind was just terrible!
