Channel Lock Pliers

I've screwed around with this gizmo and think its a nice addition to training. You can get a very tight close with these. I first thought to use my grip machine with these, but when in the tight close, the pliers aren't open enough- maybe a bigger pair would work... But it may not be as tight.

So I taped up the teeth of the pliers so they wouldn't scratch up my equipment. Then I figured to use the TTK and do a lot of BTR reps. It blows up the muscle on the pinkie side of the hand. You have to use a lot of weight, but if you have one of those pink bands you can get at sorinex, it will add some weight to it without taking up your loading pin... Just have to wrap it around the bottom and the lever arm.

Give it a try, if you like. It might close the gap for you.

Do you happen to have any pics or videos? I'm not sure I follow your setup.

Are you saying you are sandwiching the two paddles of the TTK in the pliers and closing the pliers like a TSG?

Yes. You have to chock the TTK a bit so there is an "inch" of close. I have mine set up so I can kneel down and have my palm facing up and away from the TTK. It makes it harder, as opposed to standing in front and having your palm facing down- like putting your hand out for a hand shake. I got a pair of Stanley pliers.. they have a nice comfortable handle. And a lifetime guarantee :) you'll need over 100lbs on there if you're a 3.5 or higher closer. You can also do a strap hold: but the weight is too much to hold up; you'll have to load up a loading pin; and drag the weight with it closed on the strap. Pick a weight that you just have the strap slip; then take of 10lbs or so and go from there. When you can drag it 10 ft add 5lbs.
