Stephen Ruby
Level 18 was quite easy actually did a few reps but camera died, level 21 was much harder not sure if I got it closed but it was really close if not. My goal for the contest is to block -20mm- in the 170 range, bought a elite gripper which is in the 160 range I suspect and my 3.5 gripper I believe is mid 170 to 180ish range. I'm getting used to the block sets since I used to mainly do tns and my sweep is a lot stronger then the last portion of the close. Edit just measured gripper end is actually about 19 mm according to my ruller. Used this site to base the levels off of http://www.davidhorne-gripmaster.com/vulcantraining.html Edited February 23, 2013 by Stephen Ruby
Geralt
No childsplay anymore Stephen. You might also like this link, scroll down and you find will find a few calibrations of Vulcan V1/V2's with several springs. Easier to compare with spring indications with TSG's. You will also find HUGE differences in outcome, like level 18 varying from 64 kg up till 75 kg's. Check it out if you like. http://p2.foorumi.info/rautakoura/viewtopic.php?p=17#17 Strong work! Good luck in training. Edited February 23, 2013 by Geralt

Good luck in training. Thanks a lot yeah the level 21 felt much more similar to my coc 3.5 but a tad easier-which is brand new- which is about what its rated at for that site. Ultimate goal would be to hit a 180lb 20mm set on contest but hoping for 160-170 for first contest. don't tell me you weren't using chalk!! that's insane man.. strong! Thanks I actually use some liquid chalk just a little to keep hands dry but I like it a lot. daniel reinard
That's elite level Vulcan work dude! Super strong setting. It was impressive just to see that. Aim for a 180 close in the comp. I think you'll nail at least 175.
Chez
wow, great stuff. You didn't even look like you were struggling on the set and the set on a V2 gets super hard at the high levels.
Stephen Ruby
Thanks I'd much rather be stronger with the final portion of the gripper close but feel training these sets will help with that. I feel if I can 20mm block set my 3.5 I can get 180 on the comp day hopefully. Thinking 155 for opener and working up to 180 for 4th attempt. I have a old rolling thunder coming in that I will try next week along with my sister-who is competing also but has no lifting or grip background- Hoping to get 180 range and 60-80 range for my sister. Thanks again for all the feedback.
