speedy
For the most part my grip training is incorporated into existing exercises: pull-ups (towel or/and rope), farmers walk, step-ups, and so on. But I figured with all the time I spend in the car (Field IT Guy), that one day I saw these tennis balls and said why not. I have done negatives where I would squeeze close the gripper and hold it and let my hands judge when to release but that has been tearing things up (calluses on my hands even with electrical tape on it) so been using a similar concept while driving with a tennis balls (I bounce between the tennis balls and the gripper for this: no punt intended) where I would do a crush squeeze, hold till I can't hold anymore, switch hands, rest and continue till I get to my destination or till my hands had enough. I also do pinches with the tennis ball and work the thumb. Do you see anything bad about this approach?

It seems like a good approach, but I would be careful going max effort while driving in the car for 2 reasons. 1. You may lose concentration and 2, You may look like you are doing something inappropriate in the eyes of the law
jvance
I concur with gotagrip, strings hands won't do any good if you get injured in a wreck Not to state the obvious
