Thomsen1
I've only had good experience in dealing with this company, although havent ordered but a couple of equipments from them. Me to...no problem with my orders from Gladiatorpower:)
james_grahame
Unfortunately my order from gladiatorpower has not gone well. Myself and Jarrod Riordan ordered 2x67kg inch replicas and a 54kg inch replica to be delivered to Australia. The 54 and 67 have different diameter handles and all handles are oval rather than cylindrical. Jarrod used some calipers and measure the narrowest part of the 67handle as 70mm and the widest as 78/79mm (3 inches) depending on exactly where you measure. As you can imagine I was very annoyed. I am trying to come to a resolution with gladiatorpower. However given the practicalities of trying to return good from Australia to Germany it is hard to see how I can possibly end up with proper inch replicas. For me, the 67kg handle is oval and almost 3". It is doubtful I will ever lift it and at 68kg it is more than I can push press in a 1hand style overhead. It's pretty much unusable. I don't want to say ,much more as I created this thread in haste and found I was unable to delete it when I calmed down.

james_grahame
Sorry eric , i did not realise that. the images were just intended to show the circumference of the 54 and 67 were different with a tape measure

CANCRUSHER
I had the same "problem"with the 67 kg inch.Mine weights almost 70 kg with an oval handle of 2,9 inches and for now i can barely break it from the floor. I know this is annoying but i think that lifted this bell you can lift any inch replica.
james_grahame
Did you mention the handle being oval to gladiatorpower ? they told me i was the first to complain about the handle shape. i have not weighed my 67 inch to confirm the weight yet

Juha Harju
Thanks for those comments. I had also same kind of problems. 54kg and 38kg handles was perfect and blockweights too.
Koura
I had problems as well. Ordered 78kg inch, got a 73kg one. Handle was about 65mm/73mm if i remember right. I E-mailed them and got a nice discount. Then I fixed handle on my own. Handle's diameter is now 63mm. So it was a still good purchase.
james_grahame
Ah , so it is not just me How were you able to fix your handle ? Edited February 10, 2013 by james_grahame
Koura
Ah , so it is not just meHow were you able to fix your handle ? I've used an angle grinder. Took me about one hour to do the job. Not a bad task really.
jäpälä
In my opinion It's better to have too much than too little, easier to remove than add without effecting the metals properties. I am in a process of obtaining an 78 kilo inch and if the handle is too big I'm going to either grind it down with an angle grinder as Koura did, or machine it down on a lathe. Or the third option as CANCRUSHER replied, stick with it until I can lift it Edited February 11, 2013 by jäpälä
cemery
I can see your frustration. The Inch dumbbell is a huge investment (especialy for you with shipping), and a man would like to receive excactly what he pay's for. I can understand the weight off by 10 lbs or so givin the nature of cast iron, but the handle is a really important part to get the correct demensions. Sorry to hear this happened, hope you can fix the handle or get resolve somehow.
james_grahame
Grinding down the handles may be the only option. However, I did not pay for 3 'randomly thick oval handled dumbells which you can grind to your own requirements'. From this thread, it appears that gladiatorpower have been selling the same faulty dumbells to other people. All of whom have had to ask for compensation and/or try and fix the dumbells themselves. It really annoys ( I can't use a stronger word on this forum) me that they have continued to sell dumbells that clearly have faulty handles.Plus I ordered 3 inch replicas (2x67, 1x54) and any physical changes (grinding/lathe) to the dumbells have to be made 3 times.I am glad that the other guys were able to find a solution to their dumbell problems, or are happy to grind them to size, but for me this whole situation is a farce. I have not had an email reply for a few days now.

You should get what you paid for, or get some compensation like you said.
daniel reinard
Just to share i've received an inch replica from another seller that came out with an oval handle. One side is about 1/4" wider. I've decided to just stick with it and train to grab it both ways. One way is harder than the other. If I can dominate this one I feel real good about lifting most other inches. It is a shame but I took it as a challenge. From what was described to me the oval happens sometimes when a mold swells when it is poured. Foundries often struggle to get them to come out round. I feel your pain though. I agree the customer should receive a fix to make things right. I hope you get what you want from the sitution.
