jvance
You prolly just need a dehumidifier somewhere nearby

Mephistopholes
A little steel wool should remove it.
canthar
Rust is a problem for me where I live especially with no AC. I store them in Rubbermaid with paper towels between them and it's been working.

33wes
I don't get rust here in dry Nevada, yet steel wool and WD40 would probably get rid of it.

macaz
Flagstaff AZ, was in the top 10 for snowiest, sunniest and cleanest air. Not too bad. I thought for sure we would get driest air. Winslow which is one city over got on the list. Phoenix got a lot of top ten spots...most uncomfortable, dirtiest air, least rainiest, least humid, sunniest, dryest and 10 all time highest temp
bwwm
Yeah we have some pretty $#!^^y air down here, but it's not as bad as it used to be, and certainly not as bad as LA or Vegas. Vegas was absolutely terrible the last time I was there. Plus a lot of people in Phoenix head up to Flagstaff on the weekends
canthar
CT here and NO AC, rust is a problem...
Tex
Dry rice makes an excellent decassent too. Every time I go out to sea I pack my straight razors in a box with a little packet of rice in there, never get rust on them anymore.
acorn
You could store them in a bucket of WD-40 or mineral oil.

daniel reinard
grippers stored in the garage for a couple years now, no rust. Always had a little lube on the springs tho. Pretty dry microclimate where I live too.
Shoggoth
If you keep them in a sealed container put a rag with some WD-40 in there as well. It's hydroscopic and should keep wicking away any excess moisture. I keep a big tin of silica desiccant in my gun cabinet to help with that as well.
