Matt Brouse
Yo, Hats off on the site, just checked it out, pretty cool. Obviously I'm out of the loop but I noticed I'm #4 on the DO axle list... how many contest results are included in that list? Is that US only? Being a lazy psuedo-hobbyist grip guy these days I'm sure there's more there. Cheers!
Matt Brouse
As I look at it on a computer versus my phone I see there is a world vs. US option. I gotta say that the 2HP list, even if it is not fully complete, is extremely impressive...
climber511
Matt - it's a work in progress for Aaron - results are for 2012 and going forward - older results are not up. So get yourself to a contest here in 2013 and get your name all over the lists !!!
Matt Brouse
Earlier results are not going to be included? Or just aren't loaded as of yet? It's very cool. Nice job Aaron.
acorn
Earlier results are not going to be included? Or just aren't loaded as of yet? It's very cool. Nice job Aaron. Thanks duder. Earlier results will not be included. On events like 2HP where we have been consistent with the rules and the requirement for very accurately weighed setups and plates for years I went back as far as the existing lists as the seed results. In the past events like Axle or Vbar, etc have not been run with accurately weighed plates. With the setup of the IGC committee we put forth some guidelines including accurately weighed or certified plates for those events and 4 attempts maximum so no Last Man Standing format. So most of the events listed we started accumulating results for the list going forward from that point or slightly before if it was verifyable that conditions were met for the rules that we put forth and the contests were sanctioned. So the Axle list starts in 2012. There were some great lifts done prior to that not on the list, my own 400# lift included as I'm not sure accurately weighed plates were used at that comp. The list should be pretty up to date, I think I may be missing results from one of David's comp's that I have not entered. - Aaron
Matt Brouse
Very cool. Any and all past number don't stand a chance in the next year or two, anyway.
acorn
Very cool.Any and all past number don't stand a chance in the next year or two, anyway. Thats what we figured. With time the lists will fill in pretty nicely and at least all results will be consistent and comparible. - Aaron
odin
Aaron, I know this is a labor of love for you, but I feel like there should be a way to donate money as well as time for those who want to help out. I enjoy the lists a great deal, think they are great for the sport and am grateful to you for developing and maintaining them. Could we set up some type of donation mechanism like the GB has or using PayPal for Aaron's great work? Does anyone see a problem with this or have a better idea? Or is there already something set up which I've overlooked? I noticed that FB is running beta tests w/ a "Donate Now" button for non-profits, but don't know if you'd want to hassle w/ applying for 501©(3) status, unless someone on the board knows an attorney who'd help you set it up. I appreciate this Bob. I won't lie, this would help with hosting costs, etc. Jedd covers the hosting for the gripsport.org site but the backend database and management engine for the lists is covered by me out of pocket for the hosting, etc. as well as working for free to build and update the code that runs it. I suppose if people are interested in donating they could contact me directly for a Paypal address and something could be worked out to share with Jedd for the hosting of the main site. Thanks, - Aaron

odin
I'm sure there are several of us who would donate by contacting you, but I think making it more visible and simple would be better for generating donations. Could you put up one of those "buy me a beer/coffee" buttons (like you see on some blogs) on the Top 50 pages themselves, and link it to PayPal? Cannon
I would support. Just let me know how.

odin
I was thinking about what if we had "NAGS" memberships to help cover costs? But NAGS as an acronym, for some reason, reminds me of this:
acorn
I was thinking about what if we had "NAGS" memberships to help cover costs? But NAGS as an acronym, for some reason, reminds me of this: It has been discussed to have memberships with this possibility but not pursued yet or any consensus from what I remember. Guest Squat More
I can't even compete in NAGS comps because of location and the ridiculously high cost of travel, but I still donated some money. To the guys who actually go to contests and earn their way onto the top 50 lists for whatever lift, throw some money Aaron's way.
acorn
Was just looking through the database and the current stats are: 126 contests entered, 463 unique athletes, and over 3000 event results added. Wow! - Aaron
Jedd Johnson
Big thanks to Aaron for putting this all together. Thanks to Bob for bringing up the idea of a monetary contribution to Aaron/Us to cover the expenses, which are substantial. Thanks to those who have helped us and thanks to those who have already committed to or have sent money.
