indiladhar
After I moved country I don't have a rack that sets low enough for thick bar statics (I have the ironmind vulcan rack). I don't want to deadlift the bar and do holds because it'll drop once my grip gives without any rack/catchers below. Could I use the RT for longer timed holds in the same way? How much of a carryover would this have to thickbar statics done 2 handed? I might try to find some blocks/chairs/whatever to set the bar on for thickbar holds in future.. deadlifterfromberlin
You could loop solid chains and let them hang from the top of the vulcan racks. Just let the chains support the bar at the required height.
Mephistopholes
I used to do this all the time, and still do sometimes: load up the RT with something that is a good working weight. Something you can rep, but isn't easy. Pick it up, carry it as far as you can go, switch hands and carry it back. Trains the static grip hard, also will work the whole body with enough weight. Basically a one hand farmers walk, but carry it between the legs, not to the side. I think it's a great grip move.
indiladhar
Thanks for the ideas- I really like the chain idea & will definitely be buying a couple of chains to set this up!
