Paul Savage Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 (edited) Camera work and editing is not brilliant but some gripper work from tonight. Did some choker closes with the 500 followed by some #4 singles left handed and some reps with right, finishing off with a ccs width close. Here's some other clips from the workout if anyone is interested. No more grip though as i actually tore a hole in my right pinky finger on the last one. Full workout is in my log. patrickmeniru Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Unbelievable strength! Keep up the great work, sooner or later the #4 cert will come. I hope you stay injury free. Quote
Autolupus Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Strong work Paul! I'm right in saying that's Sam Scott's old footstomped #4? Quote Mike Mackenzie. Luceo non uro.
Cannon Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Great work dude. Maybe a "wide set" a the end. CCS requires a card You're getting some great movement on that gripper. What I mean is that the handle moves FAST. I think you've always had really explosive gripper strength. Impressive on heavy grippers! Quote
Paul Savage Posted November 2, 2011 Author Posted November 2, 2011 (edited) Cheers guys. Yes i did say ccs 'width' close. I don't know who Sam Scott is but yeah apparently some idiot foot stomped it with a pipe through (spring is bent a bit). I got it off twig, i don't think it's ever been cal'd but i remember it to be a little tougher than Steve's super elite (not sure if that's 3.65?) back when it had been oil'd. Remember this is not certification, it is just a training session. I am now pulling out of the strongman comp i had plan'd for next month and will be sticking to the training routine i have been doing as it's working very well. Hopefully i can get my medium #4 with the credit card before the years out, i feel like there's a good chance that will happen. Geralt Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Holy smoke, there's some serious horsepower in that body. Good to see that working your whole body can develop such strength! Good motivation for me to hit those weights hard and concentrate less on grippers alone. you are doing very hard work so a ccs close would be well deserved! But that close alone is already good stuff! Quote Started training June 2008 MM level 1 Ghp7 GSS certified Some videos.... http://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_y-TPakQE6zfc18qWgZW7Q
Florian Kellersmann Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 strong stuff Paul, but you shouldn't call it closes of a #4 when it's actually a manipulated gripper. Quote ARMS ARE FOR ARMWRESTLING "Always give your workouts cool names to fire you up!" - Devon Larratt
Paul Savage Posted November 4, 2011 Author Posted November 4, 2011 To me it's an easy #4 just like my former easy #3 was a #3, i don't really care how it got that way and it's not like theres not easier #4's out there. It's a good gripper to use to work on the last bit of the close, just like my rb330 is good for the sweep.
