BigJan85 Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 I was finishing up my workout last night with some pinch lifting on my version of the Euro (2 45's with pipe through them) and I challenged a co-worker of mine to see what he could pull. We started at 140 and moved up 10 pounds each time from there. He went all the way up to 200 pounds plus the pipe weight! He's never trained his grip directly although he does play some sports and lifts on a fairly regular basis. One of the most impressive things is that hes only 18 years old and 180 pounds. I let him know what an impressive lift it was and he seemed excited to start training grip and said he would become a member of the board soon. I wonder what kinda numbers he will be able to pull with some technique and a few months of training because he was basically just walkin up to the weight and pinching it with no real technique. I would imagine hes pretty close to being able to do rafter pull ups also. 1 Quote 2011 Goals: Deadlift 600 OH DL 315 on Oly Bar Close #3.5 on regular basis Pinch 225 on euro DO DL 415 on axle Get flexible
BGally Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Thats nuts! I hope he starts training so we can see what he can really do. Did he work on a farm or as a mechanic or something? Quote
BigJan85 Posted September 21, 2011 Author Posted September 21, 2011 Naw I think the only job hes ever had is working at the hardware store and detassling. He lives in the city so I doubt hes done any kind of farm work either. Just a naturally strong dude Im thinking.
