How did I finish ahead of David Elmer and Teemu Koivunen in the overall, but behind them in the 82.5kg class? Yeah, that shouldn't be. Great performance Matt. What were your weights lifted? David wrote me and clarified that it's correct. The 82.5 class results are not just the overall pared down. David said it's like a totally separate competition. The 82.5 scores are recalculated against just each other instead of the whole lot. Therefore, lifts could be worth more or less than in the overall. I kind of understand. But I still admit that I'm having great difficulty wrapping my brain around the scoring in general. Does this make sense? Sounds like it was a bad Pinch day all over the US. Except maybe for me I set a PR! Hey I still don't understand how the scoring works. How did I finish ahead of David Elmer and Teemu Koivunen in the overall, but behind them in the 82.5kg class? daniel reinard Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 (edited) Dang, big PR Matt! Strong lifts all around. It was a shame about being sick leg 1. You're overall total is still very competitive so leg 3 should move you up even higher. Big stub lift, I expect a chase to push the record next month. I found there is much technique to this lift. I dropped 47.6 on my last two attempts, last attempt missed by 1 inch. In hindsight I should have done 46.5, but with 49.6 having gone up in training and 47.1 going up several times it would be a done deal. I think my left index finger had some pain in it from setting that Vulcan which played a roll in the drops. Lesson learned.
