Back To It...

I pretty much quit doing any bending a couple years back. I had gotten too wrapped up in it (no pun intended...hehe). I had gotten really busy at work, I was neglecting any other full body training, my wrists and hands hurt all the time, and I needed to devote enough time to my relationship (with who is now my wife!). I never got really good at it. Even though my favorite was DU bending, the only bends I had that were worth noting at all were DO bends. I had worked up to an IM red in leather pads (took about 10 min though) and an F911 in leather also--again, this took several minutes.

Fast forward to today. I had my first real bending workout since then. I say real because before this I bought a box of 60d's and did a couple little workouts with them, just to get a feel for it again. Needless to say, todays workout was...well...kinda sad. I hit a few 60d's, then got one 6"x1/4" G5 and a 6"x5/16" G2 (one of the harder ones--harder than the G5, but not quite a g8). I felt pretty good, so I tried for a G8. Well...I failed miserably. As in...maybe 3 or 4 deg of bend. I knew I would've lost some strength at it...but didnt think it would be that much!

Anywho...my main training focus is gonna remain my barbell/kb workouts, but I'm gonna see if I can work a reasonable amount of bending back into it...probably just DO style, as DU never failed to make my hands and wrists hurt, no matter how much I paid attention to form...
