macaz
I inquired about having a custom made T14 “The Beast” gripper made for my collection. I contacted Warren Tetting about making one for me and he contacted his spring manufacturer about the cost of a 9/16 (0.6”) spring for the gripper. To make this work for the spring manufacturer Warren said he needed to have 12 springs made at once. He would keep 4 I want 1 so I would need 7 other people interested in the T14 gripper. Warren mentioned the cost would probably be $125. He also mentioned something about calling the lot “the Saturn” (I’m not sure why) and that the spring would yield abut 2000# of pressure to close. Any one interested please contact me rmaclean73@hotmail.com Thanks...I hope this works out because I realy want one for my collection (T1-T14) Rich MacLean

macaz
People want what they want, but.......what for? $125 could buy a lot of training equipment! I have a nice T series gripper display with a spot for a T14 (I posted a photo a while back, it had the railroad date nails 1-14). For me it is a collection thing. I dont plan on closing it, I did however close my T6 yesterday (same thing as the GM) so I'm happy.
MIGHTYSAXON
Is it 125 dollars for one or for the whole bunch and split?
macaz
Is it 125 dollars for one or for the whole bunch and split? For 1 gripper. I dont think that price includes shipping!
macaz
One person from the gripboard and one person at my work are interested so far. So five more and Ill get the ball rolling. Here is my collection ending with a T13 with a .5" spring. The gripper in the spot of the T14 is a Tetting retro gripper. My fingers are crossed that I find enough interest because no one seems to be willing to sell their own T14.
DanCottle
might be easier to offer someone the $125 for their gripper
