william Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 I was wondering if anyone had calibrated the GNC grippers? If so, what were the results? And are these any better made then Heavy Grips? Quote
climber511 Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 I don't have any but have seen one. The smaller handle diameter isn't going to fit correctly into a standard RGC so the rating results might be off some. I found the smaller handle nice in one way - it did give a deeper close, kind of like a filed handle COC. It will take some usage by someone to see how they hold up over time compared to the Heavy Grips. Bob Lipinski Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 I measured the handle, I think someone else did too. 11/16 I think. In terms of consistency, I doubt they are better than heavy grips. I got the wrong number gripper in my pack. From my best guess, my 250 seems around 150 and my 2 300's 5-10 pounds stronger. I imagine these vary alot, but I could be wrong. The solid steel handles are nice though. Quote US Handstrength
rico300zx Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 funny story, i was at GNC aand the guy there had a set of the harder ones and i asked for the hardest one. i touched the handles and he said oh no no no you doing it all wrong your susposed to just take it to parallel. then he showed me how, i thought it was funny. the handles are almost at parallel as it is. rico Quote Dare to compare? HUNTER13 Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 So GNC grippers, ya or nay. My inlaws might be getting me both sets for x mas. Quote
vikingsrule92 Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 So GNC grippers, ya or nay. My inlaws might be getting me both sets for x mas. Tell them to order you some BBs off of wwfitness.com. The quality is 1000 times that of the GNC grippers, they don't season over time, you can get them made adjustable mount by Aaron Corcorran, and they're just the highest quality grippers around. Quote
austinslater Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Picked up some gnc grippers and I actually like them. I like the smaller handles and narrower spacing. Great for the final close. My 250 feels like a 3 so mine is similar to those above. Quote Austin Slater West Richland, Wa
Cannon Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Check the ratings thread. I did some of these for someone. Found the numbers. These are the only ones I've had. GNC 200 = 120.14 GNC 250 = 153.01 GNC 300 = 168.51 Quote
