Six Barrel Shotgun Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 I haven't got a pair of Fat Gripz yet, but I will definitely get me a pair sooner or later. I think it would be good to imagine myself lifting a good number with them (for some kind of mental preparation) in DO deadlift, since its that exercise im most keen to be training with them. So Im just asking you, what do you consider a good lift with Fat Gripz in DO deadlift? I'm mostly interested in number for Fat Gripz since it those I wanna have. Quote

IF its a 2" bar then i think it depends on your bodyweight and other things but i think 350plus is solid and apparently world class is over 460 or so Quote
Scott Styles Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 I lift about 80% of my 2" DO deadlift with the fat gripz. Quote You don't get a dog and do the barking yourself.

Scott Styles Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 That's a good point. While the Fat Gripz fit over the bar and do not revolve, I am doing my deadlifts on an oly bar with needle bearings. It's possible on a cheap bar that doesn't rotate well, performance relative to an axle deadlift might be a little worse than what I am getting. The fat gripz give a 2.25" diameter grip instead of 2" and are a little slicker than the painted steel of my axle. I think that accounts for the lower weight. Six Barrel Shotgun Posted November 4, 2010 Author Posted November 4, 2010 Thanks for replies guys. Really helpfull. Quote
Stew Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 I think anything over 160kg is good standard lifting with anything over 180kg being world class. Quote
