Hubgeezer Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 Thanks for posting that Andrew. Speaking of things being subject to change without notice... On Saturday, October 2, Odd Haugen was asking what weight should be used on the Wrist Roller Contraption for "these big guys". I think we were using 80 or so in the Southern California contests circa 2005-2008. A few guys were able to do it under 5 seconds, and "all of us" were able to do it. Perhaps the slowest would run around 12 or 13 seconds, a good time being under 7 seconds. Odd was thinking of 150 lbs, otherwise it would be too boring for his tastes. When he heard about Jedd Johnson's set up at the last US Nationals, the Sled with weight on it being dragged a long distance via wrist roller, he got real excited and thought that was a much better approach than a stationary apparatus pulling upright. Jedd's wrist roller pull makes a very good visual for a contest setting - and other than the fact I really sucked on it - it was fun as well. So is he going to use a sled or just lift it upwards? He should use a sled or some other contraption instead of just a lift. It looks a lot cooler. If he needs any information, please have him contact him. I can shoot him a close-up video of the entire set-up. the materials to build it were very cheap. My dad and I worked on it for like 20 minutes and had it all set up... Thanks.
