Shane 7575
I was just curious if anyone has tried doing pinch lifting while in a crushing workout? Or is it better to break the 2 up? What about bending and pinching or bending and crushing or all 3 in 1 training session? Feel free to let me know what you think "NO HOLDING BACK PLEASE"
Mun
Pinching and crushing is fine, im not sure about bending, dont really do much of that. I do know in David Horne's beginners grip routine he says to do pinching (2hand plate pinch) and crushing (finger curls with barbell) in the same routine as well as wrist curls and reverse wrist curls, so i would imagine its absolutely fine, after all the guys a legend. Its pinned "First workout for beginners" under the Grip FAQ section. Hope this helps. Edited September 12, 2010 by Mun

Jedd Johnson
To maintain top performance, I would do crush first. It is a dynamic movement, so it should be done first. 2HP is static and should go later on. Just a general guideline...
Shane 7575
Thanks Jedd. That makes a lot of sence and that is what I have been doing but I have been bending before I crush then finish with wrist. Then the next training day I bend, crush, pinch and then finish with some higher rep wrist work. I guess I am just trying to figure out what to follow as far as getting my personal potential to come out.
Wade Gillingham
To maintain top performance, I would do crush first. It is a dynamic movement, so it should be done first. 2HP is static and should go later on. Just a general guideline... Right on with what I would say. When I train all three in the same workout I will do 1) grippers; 2) supporting; 3) pinch, in that order. Once your hands adjust to the volume I don't think there are any problems with working crush then support and or pinch.
climber511
Another thing is contest prep if that is in your future. The "normal" order of events in most contests is Grippers Pinch Support Etc Etc This doesn't mean that's an optimal training order but I think it has value several weeks out from a competition. Some things affect the next thing more than others but it's something each person kind of has to figure out for themselves. Everyone is a bit different.
