Is It Better To Train The Close (mms) Or Is It Better To Work On Your

Mun

For the past few months all i've bin doing (and getting some pretty good results) are no set closes, however i read on a youtube clip a guy commented saying all he does are parallel set closes and its had much more carryover closing grippers then no set closes. What are your guys thoughts on which one is more important and should i be trying to mash grippers shut using a MMS for a few months now for a change?

In my view, "no set" closes are the last thing you should be working on if you want to close big grippers. You should focus on choked closes and MMS closes. No set and CCS closes should be worked on after you master the gripper from tigher sets.

Mun,

What is your main goal? General hand strength? Captain of Crush certification? Grip contests?

Your goal will drive the way you should train. Let us know your goal and we can point you down the right path.

Incidentally, if I could go back, I would do more no-set stuff, only because I never did any of it and now I suck at it.

Make it a great day!

Jedd, My main goal is to close the biggest grippers out there starting with the #3 (short term), im currently working on the number 2 about a half inch left to go on it. Your advice about working on bigger grippers has helped me greatly thanks, soon the 2 will fall as well.
