Cannon
I had one of those "ON" workouts today. I knew it was going to be good when my last warm up, my Thor BBSM, felt downright squishy. First up, I tried a shot at the Vendetta 3. I was surprised that it closed pretty easily. I even had control to move the handle sideways a little and close the gripper a little farther. Then, I gave a shot at my 5/8" GM. The first attempt was the familiar 1mm miss. The second attempt was closed. First time for that gripper. THEN, I took a shot at the 5/8" SM with no set--something else I've been chasing for a while. First attempt missed by maybe 1mm. Second attempt was probably closed. I only say that because I couldn't get a good look at the ends of the handles, but it sure seemed closed. All of this was no chalk, in my car, during my commute Great workout! Fully body training has made a difference in my gripper strength, and I've been doing simple workouts in my car during my commute home. Whenever my hands feel fresh. This started out as a time saver because I have no time at home lately for workouts. I do overcrushes and reps on near-max grippers, a few max attempts and force them shut for long holds. Some no set on lighter grippers. Lots of BTR. I just try and have my hands fried by the time I arrive home. I have not had a period of progress like this in a long, long time. If things keep going well, I hope to get my first Elite close and then sign up for the MM1 again.

Cannon
Good going Matt, I hope you're doing that when you've stopped though, not tearing down the freeway! I try to time things safely. I am stopped in traffic or at lights plenty and that's when I try the difficult attempts.
Cannon
This is the , by the way. This gripper is my arch enemy. Just Tuesday I missed this gripper on all attempts by about 1/4". Wide-ish spread, nasty sweep. The thing is that it's not usually a difficult #3. Maybe in the 153# range. But recently when I closed my MM1 replica again, I missed this gripper bad. I don't understand why, on some days, it's a total brick. It seems to have a personality all its own.

Only times I've ever closed it! I remember on the day Luke certified on the MM1, he tried this gripper right after and missed. If I remember correctly. Check your workout log for all exercizes you did over the last 2 weeks, that will help you to duplicate your peak cycle. Parris

It might just be that your base strength has ratcheted up a notch. ...it could be a peak strength workout...probably a bit of both. Congrats man. bencrush
Great job on that 5/8" GM Matt! That is a very solid gripper. I still appreciate you loaning it to me. I can say that it's harder to close than the MM1 in my opinion - any day of the week!
