A Day At Eric's Garage

Yesterday I traveled 100 miles to none other than Eric Milfeld's Garage

where individuals are taught, trained, and molded into "Grip Champions"

As I was walking up the drive way I seen Paul Knight doing a set of warm-up

squats with 235 lbs. and as I was thinking to myself what a great way to super charge

a grip workout the bar slipped off his back (due to profuse sweating)and went crashing

to the floor. :yikes What a way to start a day! Now that Paul is warmed-up and his wrists tweeked

from the bar rolling off the back of his fingertips we was ready for some grip training. :D

As Paul and Jeff worked on various grip and bending feats me and Eric focused on practicing

with the Vulcan for the W.O.G. World's Strongest Hands, 2010. After some warming up I managed to

set 2 PR's with a level 14 close right handed. Eric was a hair away from a level 18 (I believe)

BTW, Paul was within an 1/8" of closing the MM 7 Replica. There's no doubt in my mind

that on a good day he could close it with confidence. He seemed off yesterday on grippers.

Could very well be because of the accident with the squats tweeking his wrists. Good job Paul!!!

As always, I left Eric's Garage a little bit wiser and stronger. Never a dull moment at

Eric's Garage.

Nice, I wish I could have been there! I have the best time when me and MikeK get together. Everyone pushes eachother so much more than you would when studying alone!

Nice report Joe! Congrats on the PRs too! Going up 2 levels on the Vulcan is a huge deal. Eric, hitting (or very close) Level 18 close is big!

Nice PR Joe!! Was that level 14 close MMS or CCS?

MMS set with 20mm block like what will be used at the contest.

I went past parallel and then opened to 20mm. Made a big difference.

Thanks to Eric and Paul for their help on my gripper work and sets.
