tchcalvin
I am brand new to kettlebells (3 total workouts). I of course am working with lighter weights to develop my form. Overall I am pretty fired up, but my gym only has a couple of 35lb'ers as their largest weights. Needless to say I am looking to by some. Just a few days ago I did 80 snatches in each hand (160 total) at a rate of about 20 per min. with a 2 min rest every 40 total reps. My question is: Since I am on a budget for now, what size would you recommend? I am thinking either 24 or 28kg. I am leaning more towards the 28kg so I can work up to the bigger weights. In the future I will have a full set but, I would like something usefull in the meantime. thanks for your help guys. also, is this a good level of strength/endurance for a beginner? tchcalvin
The snatches mentioned were single armed with 35lb bells.
steve0
I'd go with the 24kg. I have a full set from 26kg to 48kg with doubles in most weights. I can press for reps, pullup and almost pistol the 48kg. Most of my snatching is done with a 24kg and it sees the most use during the week.
cwdutton
24kg for sure! It will be a big step up from the 16kg. When you get used to that, some can go right to the 32kg.
