Which To Choke?

So, I'm just getting back into grippers...I can close my coc #2, both hands. Can't close my 2.5 with either, and am light years away

from closing my #3. Which gripper is is better for me to choke to parralel to work with at this point? my 2.5 or 3?

Just not sure if I should choke my 2.5 until I can close that consistently and progressively open the choker until I can close it with

a CCS, or if I should choke a grip I'm far from to push past the 2.5?

Hello !

First read this wonderfull article written by Teemu Ilvesniemi about choker work :http://gripperstrength.wordpress.com/

Then, I would suggest to start with the #2.5 and move to #3 when you feel comfortable with the #2.5

"Opening" a choker is a good idea but at one point, the choker will slip on the handles. Based on my experience, don't use a choker past 35mm. On the other hand, after 35 mm, a gripper is more easy to set.

Have a good time with choker work !

Most of my choker work is around parallel and on the handles, I have however played with wider choker work and then choking on the spring will work, as in this clip:

. The jubilee clip will distort and I found dressing with a light/nylon hammer/mallet to be helpful. smile.gif

As to which to choke, choke and work on both! Remember to apply the force explosively.
