rico300zx
On my HG grippers. On the bottoms and where the spring goes in. On the same gripper. One handle is flat and one handle is convex. This occurs on multiple grippers? Knurling is consistant though. Does this mean something I don't know about? Besides, you get what u pay for? chilliman64
I have a set of HGs, I had never noticed these irregularities. I've just had a quick look and mine all appear (to the naked eye) to be flat top and bottom of the handles. Where the spring inserts into the handle I noticed that the hole is slightly countersunk. When I bought the HGs I had one fail immediately where the spring turned loose and then came out of the handle. I wrote to the manufacturer who sent me a replacement immediately once I emailed them a pic of the failed gripper, otherwise no problems. Cannon
I think you've got it right, Parris. You get what you pay for. I've calibrated a lot of HGs and they rarely look or feel exactly the same. Different edges on the engraving, different knurling, different bevels, any variable you can imagine. Spring color is another one. I've seen some with Tetting-like springs and some with glossy black springs that seem plastic coated.
chilliman64
Here is a pic if anyone wants to see what im talking about. http://www.gripboard.com/uploads/1274998670/gallery_13452_1037_32742.jpg it might have been cut from the end of the bar... who knows. I can crush the 250 no probs but the 300 is a monster, best I can do is about a 10mm gap. you're probably right Cannon as far as getting what you pay for. when I get the money I think I'll get the set of COC from the #2 up to the 3.5 that should see me for a while. I do have the #3 and the quality of finish certainly is better than the HGs but I do like the narrower grip of the HGs as I have smallish hands so easier to set. chop163
I've seen both styles of handle (the flat ends on the older HG350 I have and convex on some newer ones a friend had), but never on the same gripper....
