1stCoC
Hey, I haven't heard much froim the Georgia Giant (Too Tall) Chad. Are we going to be honored by his attendance? Mr. Jedd would sure "bring the fire" too.I do have another challenge will of course a prize for a first success. For you plate pinch afficianados a one hand pinch full pull of the ancient 150lb English millstone we have will yeild you bragging rights, some impressive photos and 100.00. Hint ANY good pinchers out there? It does have a tiny lip and great rough surface on it that I think would help in order to lift it. I have Georgia's Strongest Man this weekend June 5th. I have not trained grip specifically since the MM, but I am in shape of course. Looks like a lot of fun...and the events of the grip comp look good for me. I would like to try that millstone. If I am in town...I will try and make it. rico300zx
Richard i'd like to see a picture of that millstone. How wide did u say it was? Rico
climber511
I have lifted that millstone (two hands of course) . I believe Chad will lift it one handed if he shows up and I wouldn't be surprised if a couple others might as well. If memory serves me correctly Richard just broke it from the ground and I had it almost "floating". It is a beautiful stone!
MalachiMcMullen
The FBBC version of the 2" Vbar, the one used by a majority of gripsters, is 2.0" in diameter. It is a common problem that quality plates like older Yorks and others either fit snug or not at all. Believe it or not, the difference between 1.9" and 2.0" is as much as 30lbs for a lot of people. I would be willing to bring some weights that fit if you need them.
1stCoC
I would be greatly relieved if you could bring the bar and weights. Also if Mighty Chad shows he might want to bring what he referred to as a "good old seasoned"IM axle he used in his great comp sometime back. I want it fair for all. There are some that have never done this lift but I would like the crew to be given a shot at what every one else uses.I wouldn't be suprized if 300+ gets hauled up.RS Thanks for stepping forward to help!I feel the millstone lift might be a great cover shot for a magazine it is massive 4-4 1/2 thick, 24 " in diameter and an ancient cross cut into it hundreds of years ago. The edge has a faint lip and concave a tiny bit so affords a good grip surface. the weight is "pretty much on the money" 150Lb. With the caliber of men I think will be present great feats may happen! 1stCoC
The amount of special people continues to mount. I rec'd news that Olympic champion and present World record holder in the shotput ( Indoor and outdoor!) Randy Barnes will be present along with his coach Rusty Smith. I hope Rusty's son comes as well (a super athlete), I saw him pass a football 55 yards while seated on a chair just playing around last year.RS

Randy has came to Ashland and given instruction before but I missed the oppurtunity to meet him. What a great oppurtunity to meet one of the icons of my events. 1stCoC
It will be a good day. Congrats on your recent certification. Randy has visited here before.. a true athletic, gifted, wonder and a truly nice guy. I never forget when he was here last I was leaving late and for just some strange reason I drove to the end of the shopping mall where we are located to the highland/ field event throwing area. It was dark... my headlights just caught the field and in the glare caught Mr. Barnes out there just working away with a young local athlete....giving back. Bob Lipinski
I know I was percieved as badmouthing the Arnold event and the lifts there- So just to let everyone know, Rich's record lift looked perfect, and was almost anticlimactic based on his Arnold performance. Looking forward to a full results printout, it might motivate me to update my website. Congrats to all competitors. Awesome lift by Rich. I was rooting for Andrew because he has been in "our" grip scene for a while, but Rich and Tex have stuck with it, and I hope to meet them some day.
