Martin Gaisser
I was wondering about how long does it take after you contact IM before you actually meet up with your witness and do the official close. I am curently about half way through my second round of KTA and am closing my 3.5 down to about 1/4" during my workouts. I am at least doing as well, if not better than I did with the first round where in the end I closed my 3 both hands with the left one being weaker. About a week ago during training I was able to TNS my cut 2.5 no problem. So I think after this round I should be ready to get certified. All feedback is appreciated. Bob Lipinski
Contact Ironmind and you will know. That is the best answer you will get. If a suitable witness is in your area and available you will be good to go. Took me maybe a week or two, I lived a couple hours from the witness, he owned an auto dealership and I made it during business hours. You mentioned everything but how you could close a #3. That is what you should be talking about.
Martin Gaisser
Yea its kinda hard to tell you exactly where I am with the 3 because I really don't know myself. I did 1 round of KTA and never closed it during my traing. I took a week off and then did 5 attempts R and L. Got it 3 out of 5 R and 1 out of 5 L. After that I went right back on the KTA again and that's where I'm at. I am now closing the 3 probably 50% of the time in my warm ups even during my really heavy weeks and that's the only time I ever attempt it. So judging from where I was to where I am now I really don't see it being a problem.

Paul Knight
Ted Wynn (TNSTed) sent an email to Ironmind yesterday asking to cert, so I'll let you know how long it takes for him when we hear back.

bencrush
Martin, are you closing the #3 with a CCS or a parallel set? That of course makes a huge difference in the cert process.
Martin Gaisser
So far I've only been using the parallel set. I'm probably just going to wait and see after this round of KTA is over, with some rest, and if everthing goes as I hope I'll just do some light work to keep my strength up until I can get witnessed. Then back with the hard stuff again. I think right now I'm only going to do 1 more round after this one and then take a little time off the heavy gripper work and do some thickbar stuff and pinch stuff. I've got a blob50 sitting over in the corner that looks a little lonely .
