Jonathan McMillan
After reading Brookfield's new book I gave it a go. I had a set I bought years ago at the fair, collecting dust with a bunch of other stuff. I'm able to do two with my palms facing down rotating towards my thumb...can't quite do them in the other direction especially my right hand (non-dominant). Quite fun. I'm really going to focus on improving my dexterity along with my strength. Jon@han
Patrik_F
I tried them too, quite funny. Great for warm up and sort of pump up the hands. I can do the upside down thing with both my hands but it took a few tries before I could do it fast. I think that it is good for hand health and dexterity, but it is also relaxing. Bearcat 74
It's cool, I've been messing with them all morning. I'm not sure how relaxing they are though, I keep getting pissed cuz I'm dropping them.......
supersqueeze
Has anyone tried the larger, heavier ones that IM now sells? Mike M.
Jonathan McMillan
Along with this topic I'd like to try the heavier ball rotation with the shot putters shots (palm up though)...I'll have to do a search to see if I can get my hands on some shots locally. I've got the balls that make that chyming sound, which sounds more like a clang when I drop them...hmm... maybe it's more relaxing once you get good at the movement. Of course I'll eventually hunt down another set so I can try the 3 ball rotation. All this talk about having balls...I know someone is going to have to make a pun at some point. :stuart Jon@han
terminator
Has anyone tried the larger, heavier ones that IM now sells?Mike M. Yes, I have them. I'm actually better with the large ones than I am with the small ones....go figure. I can't say if they've helped yet, too soon to tell, but they sure are fun and do get the blood flowing. You gotta watch your toes with these ones. I really do like them, I'll let you know if I feel they are helping

Guest Harlan Jacobs
I had never tried them untill I read Brokfields new book. I have a 1 3/4 set of them now. I started out doing them for a warm up for grippers. I now am doing them every day. I have put duct tape around them so they don't move as easy. I am doing 5 minutes each hand with my palm down. I will say my hands don't hurt like they use to since I have been doing these. Plus, after 5 minutes, you have a great pump in your hand. xazaralix
they're great for building dexterity, and if you do each hand both rotations for at least 15 minutes each, your hands will almost feel weightless.
Big Steve
I took Tom Black's advice and made three big ones out of tennis balls and filled them with pennies, then rapped duct tape around them. Also I have a ball bearing from one of those giant trucks. It's like a three to four pound shot put and bigger than a tennis ball. I use two tennis balls with it and I get a mean workout and it is paying off, big time. My last two fingers are about 30% stronger. Thanks Tom Black for the tennis ball and penny idea. About getting bigger balls, John said lead balls from a hardware store then rap them in duct tape work well for weighted ones.
HAMMERHEAD
I also used Tom Black's penny filled tennis ball idea. I like them a lot. They are about 2lbs. and they are good for rotations in both directions. It feels they are too big to rotate upside down. They are also the perfect size and weight for juggling, and when you drop them they don't bounce. -HH
Jonathan McMillan
Thanks for reminding me about the tennis ball and pennies idea. Tom should market them and call them Tennies balls There's a ball bearing factory in the town I work at....hmmm....might just have to see if they sell direct to customers.... Guest IrNLifter
Coming from a martial arts background I have played with my steel balls for years. I have a set of 2 1/2 inch chiming, and a set of 2 inch solids, which I've also done a mix and match with 3 balls (of different sizes) in my hand....which is really weird feeling cuz one weighs different from the other two.... and they can be done upside down, touching or not touching, not allowing the large ones to touch is quite a stretch and really works my hands.....fun fun fun
