arande2
For those who are strong with hand/wrist strength in general (#3+ Gripper, Blob50+Weight, Good bends, Powerful Levering) - What are the everyday tasks like jar opening, holding awkward-to-hold objects, and basically anything that requires hand strength... like? What are they like? Maybe you do stuff that normally people wouldn't do because it's easier/more efficient to do it that way. and because you're able to while they can't. ----
Jeff Parker
I usually open my own jars. Sometimes I have to ask my wife to help me though...

timiacobucci
The other day a lady at my work had a flat tire and I took it off and plugged it and refilled it for her. The thing is the stupid scissor jack she had was broken where the handle was suppose to fit into the jack. I observed that the slot on the jack was the same 3/8" diameter at the jack handle itself so I just bent the handle to 90 degrees on the end to fit it. That is just a recent thing, there are lots more little stuff, I thought that one was sort of interesting though.
Jeff Parker
In all seriousness though, when I landscaped and we would build a porch out of flagstone, we would always see who could one hand pinch the biggest and heaviest piece. pretty good workout. I always won but I was the only one that actually trained grip. Anyone change their oil filter without a strap tool?
The Natural
Strong grip seems to cause trouble in daily life for me. Any time I put a key inside a lock, and it does not lock easily and smoothly with the small bit of pressure I initially put on the key, I really give the key a good twist, and that often warps the key, sometimes nearly tearing the head of it off. Sometimes it damages the lock too. My house key will need to be replaced very soon. Last week I destroyed the lock on my mailbox. -Rex
Paul Knight
I find myself dropping stuff more actually - it's like my hands aren't as coordinated
lukeamdman
Every now and then I have trouble with easy things because my hands are so sore from the workouts.
liam.mccaffrey
we regularly have comps in work to see who can one hand lift the biggest chunk of rail road tie onto the back of the pickup, i always win actually if you can one hand the chunks with both hand its makes loading them A LOT quicker we have some really strong guys who just can't do it,
arande2
I find myself dropping stuff more actually - it's like my hands aren't as coordinated Kinda makes sense Maybe you could do some dexterity/coordination work? (i.e. everyday tasks at a difficult level)
lloyd80s
In all seriousness though, when I landscaped and we would build a porch out of flagstone, we would always see who could one hand pinch the biggest and heaviest piece. pretty good workout. I always won but I was the only one that actually trained grip.Anyone change their oil filter without a strap tool? Ha Ha, this is quite funny... My father-in-law knows I grip and I've got him to try my grippers loads of times so one day I was in the house and he comes in a says "see if you can do this with your grip", he then asked me to get his oil filter off. I went outside ready to show how strong my grip was and tried to turn the thing.......It didn't move because it was so greasy, I tried and tried but the greasy little bastard wouldn't move, I felt like a dick! I stuck a screwdriver through it and it came off no problem after giving up! About a week later again I was at the in-laws for a party. I was sitting with my wifes uncle and my father-in-law said to me, "Lloyd, show him your grippers", so I went to the car got my #3 out and and took it back to show my wifes uncle. He tried to close it and was a mile away. My father in law the says "Lloyd can close that thing no problem", the uncle then says "go on close it", so I get the gripper set it to an MM set and close it and do a couple of reps. Her uncle thenscreams, "he's a cheat, he used his other hand to close it", of course he doesn't understand a set. Again I feel like a dick as he keeps on going on about using two hands to close it and making out I'm a cheat!!
layla
Mom was putting....trying to put caulk on my tub and it wouldnt come out and so I squeezed harder than possible for her and mission accomplished and later a jar of applesauce
chriselv
I find myself dropping stuff more actually - it's like my hands aren't as coordinated I've got exactly the same problem! It looks kinda ridiculous going around dropping stuff. People always laugh and ask me "don't you train grip, and you can't even hold on to that thing!?"
