Geralt
Hey there people Pretty much on the way now in closing the #3, thanks to KTA which helped me a lot. at this moment i try to focus with training three/four times a week with negatives on the #4 and strapholds with the #2. How much weight can you guys handle with a straphold on the #2? I know, sounds lame, the same question as 'how much do you bench', but I was just curious... Geralt
Man, I had no idea this post would unchain all those reactions on the gripboard! Maybe i was to short in my story, all I wanted to share was that i had some good gains in my close grip with KTA. I followed it in intermediate setting. The number of #2 reps didn´t go skyhigh, but I certainly won some more strength in the last part of the sweep. So i guess it really helps when you´ve reached a plateau in training. Now trying to cut back for a while with the mentioned griptraining. I´ll try to do the program in my vacation on the advanced setting of KTA. The strapholds I am now doing are those with a filed #2 COC, so that´s were the question came from: how much weight would be considered to hold for strapholds on a #2 for any carryover in closing the 3? I´m doing the holds with a thin dogleash, so the strap is solid but thin. Thanks! Bearcat 74
I had good luck with 3 sets of 10 secs, when you hit all 3 sets of 10 up the weight 2.5lbs and start over. Many strapholds over 15lbs will strain your wrist. Quote Real Name: Heath Sexton Even if you are on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there. acorn
Not sure where I'm at now with them but the last time I did one was prolly 9 months ago. At that time I could do 10# with a Hard Filed #3 for 12sec. My strap was abit different though. the part I hold onto with the handles is very thin metal pallet strapping glued and rivited to nylon strap to hold the weight. as soon as you let up the slightest bit it shoots out. I could prolly hold onto a fair amount of weight with a #2 and a regular strap. - Aaron Quote ** Retired **
Geralt
10# with a hard filed 3... guess I have some work cut out for me here. anyway thanks for the reply. I'm not in a rush to get there, so i'll be making my progress as it goes. I'll keep you posted, it takes some time but it's very rewarding to find a training method all in all that actually works, instead of just fooling around with whatever comes to mind when hitting griptraining. Also picked up squatting recently and started to do more weighttraining. Have to be careful not to overdo because of an #%&* elbow/underarm/bicep injury.. I'll try to upload a video when the damn thing closes.... But not yet.....(looking at the sky with burdened face)....but not yet..(dramatic symphonic tune rises and camera turns away at the horizon)..
