meelhama Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 I recently closed the BBGM (1 rep). Last night I did as many reps as I could with a #2. I got 6 reps. Is this normal? What do other people experience? What is the ratio of your reps on the #2 to your 1rm? Grippster Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Everyone's different. By the time I can close the next gripper up I'm usually able to do like 20-30 reps with the lighter one. And my grippers are spaced quite nicely, that's just how I am. Some #3 closers can only do a few reps with the #2. I cannot close the #3 but I could have easily done over 20 reps with the #2. Quote
Pancake Sprawl Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 23 reps with #2, 4 reps with #3 Quote Name: Chris Height: 6'5" Weight: 315-325lbs Goals: Rep #3, close #4 one day.
Magnus Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Grippster's right, this will kinda be all over the place for different people. So, do you mean parallel reps? Used my remounted 250 (~ a hard #2): Right hand - HG250 x 39, #3 x 10 Left hand - HG250 x 33, #3 x 5 You're much stronger than I am, but in terms of reps on the HG250 I was coming close to your max before the injury. It could have something to do with the way we train. Some people do heavy singles, negatives, and that's it. I do this too but I like to use a bit more of the reps and sets to build into the harder grippers and this may be the reason why I developed a lot of endurance. Quote
