Reps To Resistance

Recommended Posts

I recently closed the BBGM (1 rep). Last night I did as many reps as I could with a #2. I got 6 reps. Is this normal? What do other people experience? What is the ratio of your reps on the #2 to your 1rm?

Everyone's different. By the time I can close the next gripper up I'm usually able to do like 20-30 reps with the lighter one. And my grippers are spaced quite nicely, that's just how I am. Some #3 closers can only do a few reps with the #2. I cannot close the #3 but I could have easily done over 20 reps with the #2.

Grippster's right, this will kinda be all over the place for different people.

So, do you mean parallel reps? Used my remounted 250 (~ a hard #2):

Right hand - HG250 x 39, #3 x 10

Left hand - HG250 x 33, #3 x 5

((((((—————))))))

PBs
430 raw bench
615 raw dead
Inch DL -  both hands
Blob, Blob50 & Fatman DL - both hands

There are some rules for it. Video it. Contact Wannagrip. Check out the Mash Monster area of the Gripboard. If your repping the 3 you should go for it man. :rock

You're much stronger than I am, but in terms of reps on the HG250 I was coming close to your max before the injury. It could have something to do with the way we train. Some people do heavy singles, negatives, and that's it. I do this too but I like to use a bit more of the reps and sets to build into the harder grippers and this may be the reason why I developed a lot of endurance.
