Some people complain about the slickness of the paint, but I kinda think that this is the point of it. Id say go with it, it definitely helps with blob work (in my opinion). I also love to use the hub grip as well. Quote

Guest indi Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 ive got the ironmind pinch block, hub lift, as well as a few other blocks. i stripped the paint of them all, and since then my strength gains have been much more consistent. just putting that idea out there. im sure in time ill buy another pinch block and hub lift and not strip the paint, but that can come much later. stripping the paint gives a much more consistent surface Quote

What did you use to strip the paint? I have a hub, too, but I haven't noticed it being overly slick like the block is. The problem with the block, IMO, is that it is inconsistent - depending on how humid it is, or sweaty I am, or whatever I'm not sure - but the weight I can hold varies too much. I'd like to strip the paint and make it more consistent. Quote

stagger Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Get the FBBC adjustable block instead. To avoid the slippage problem they can leave the outer 2 plates on it unpainted. http://fatbastardbarbellco.com/PINCHME.html It's about the same price as the Ironmind one and allows you to train at multiple widths. I LOVE my Twist Yo Wrist. It works the wrists in a different way from the normal wrist rollers, and it REALLY gets my forearms burning - it's a great product. When I use it, I keep my elbows to my sides, and hold it up close to my chest - then roll it up then lower it down, then back up in the opposite direction and down again.. and do that 3 times. I do this every-other workout, before my wrist roller (I do the roller every workout), after my other grip stuff. When I'm doing pushups as my final exercise, I can barely bend my wrists because my forearms are so pumped and worked over. Quote
