Guest indi Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 1. would an Ironmind loading pin count as a V-bar? (its the loading pin designed for Olympic plates) 2. when lifting, how far do you need to pull for it to count as a lift? (just clear the ground, or to lockout, like with RT?) i tried it today for the 1st time with the loading pin and pulled 80kg to lockout with both hands. unsure where that stands, so any insight would be beneficial Quote
MalachiMcMullen Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 (edited) No, an IM loading pin is actually 1.9", as are most loading pins. Olympic plates fit the FBBC Vbar. You only need to lift it up 2" off the floor. 176 is not a bad lift at all btw Edited April 10, 2009 by MalachiMcMullen 1 Quote Zach Coulter Goals #1- The Planche

rico300zx Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 does anyone know if you trained with a 1.9" x 24" home made v bar would the weight be simular to what u could lift with the real vbar at a comp? i just dont have the cash for one now because i got alot of bills. rico Quote Dare to compare? twig Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 1: No 2: 2" 3: not really. vbar carrie's over to grippers but not a lot else. ... Of course I'm talking about the 1" vbar there, not the 2" cos I'm the kind of idiot that sells all his oly plates and THEN buys a 2" vbar! Adam Moyers Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 It would be similar and benefit you more than not training vbar at all. layla Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 yall are getting re interested in v bar pulling since I got decent onehanded numbers and I got my own homemade 1 incher. I lost a lot of gripper power to overtraining and so I am starting from scratch and not steadying the gripper with the other hand.I could close the 2 as long as I started off with a finger through the rings and then took it out for the close. I am repping the 1.5 to full close, not lying flat on a table. Paul let me work on his 2in v bar and it was addicting and after seeing the replies here,I can push some people ifn I get in some serious training.
