ewokhugo Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 (edited) tried one of these today (thanks Doug) ... it was one pathetic attempt ...just moved it 5 deg or less ... if one hard bastard its around +500 lbs how hard its this "punny" steel? matthcarl Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 They calibrate at 535, but in real life they are a LOT harder to kink than a shiny (which I believe is 545 lbs). Quote Name: Matt Carl Runner, Graphomaniac, Steel Bending Fiend

MalachiMcMullen Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 (edited) They certainly aren't easy. The kink is the worst part of them though, get them moving well enough and they aren't so bad. That being said, they are around Edgin level with an easier crush. As said, the kink is the worst part because you need to have enough confidence in your kink strength(and have good kink strength) to take them down. Otherwise you will just wobble them. WAY harder than the mag shiny, and about the same or worse to crush. Took forever to actually kink; it just kept bowing and bowing, and bowing..... ewokhugo Posted March 19, 2009 Author Posted March 19, 2009 thanks guys! i agree with the kink being about the same as the Edgin(thanks Zach). Zach, when u get a new camera its time to get a couple of cert because u are a DAMM good bender! i tried the Edgin and just wobble it ...same with the brutal hex ... because i am not happy i will kink it badly next time!:-)))) ONE QUEST remains : if the brutal its aroud 545 LBS(ONLY) why is so HARD to kink? Quote Hugo Sá e Castro 33, 6"0", 200 lbs.
luuc Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 (edited) Numbers don't say everything about the steel. I'm not sure how the steel has been calibrated, but I suppose to 30 degrees, that means it 'takes 545lbs to get it to 30 degrees'. The Shiny may be only 500lbs in the first 10 degrees, and then ramp up to 545lbs at 30 degrees, while the brutal hex can be 545lbs at any part of the bend. This means the initial kink of a brutal hex is harder then from the Shiny, but at 30 degrees they are equal in strength. Please correct me if I'm wrong. (The numbers can vary, I don't know them exact) Edited March 19, 2009 by luuc Quote The art of barehanded bending
ewokhugo Posted March 20, 2009 Author Posted March 20, 2009 luuc: i am not one expert but i understand your point! thanks!it makes sense!... your kink its amazing! u bend already the edgin to 9.5 cm betwen legs!... Quote Hugo Sá e Castro 33, 6"0", 200 lbs.
JDarty6173 Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Actually I find the kink on the Brutal Hex to be more difficult than the triangle Edgins, both the 6.5" and 6" versions. Quote
