dansweeney Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 I'm not sure if there is a direct corrolation or not, but I figured since I can't get the 2 45's, 2hp would be good training. By the way, what's the best cheap 2hp setup? Thanks! Quote
vikingsrule92 Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 (edited) If you can't get 2-45s? The cheapest is 2-45s or 35s with a pipe or loading pin through them; or simply on the end of an olympic bar and then load it up. There is no direct correlation at all, some have had to do 180 while some it takes them til well over 200. But I'd say if you can get 200 it's a safe bet that you could get 2-45s. climber511 Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 It varies all over the place - I've seen guys do 2 - 45s with a 2HP of 170 and I was around 220 when I finally did them. If there is a "secret" it's actually training one hand pinch more often I think - the hand and especially thumb placement is quite different between the two. The Natural Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Pinching 45's involves no tilt. You tilt, the plates separate. 2HP is all about tilt. So if you are good at maintaining tilt, you can get good 2HP numbers without being able to do 2 45's. -Rex Quote "It would be simpler if they had two classes: open and handicapped. Other 45's I tilt the heck out of them and it seems to work pretty good. Chad doesn't seem to tilt on the 2HP or nowhere near the amount of other guys and I think that's why he can pull the old Yorks so easily and others with big 2HP numbers can't.
