Order Of Grip Training

Recommended Posts

So I'm making saturdays my grip/wrist strength day during the week, with extra gripper work on tues and thurs based on another thread on the forum, and its going to include grippers, sledge levering, and db lifts for pinch grip (not sure what these are called  im new to grip training)

As for the order, I'm thinking grippers, pinch dbs, then sledge levering because the main focus of my grip training will be on grippers for a while, and maybe after a #2 or 2.5 CoC close, I'll switch to trying rafter pullups.

Basically I'm wondering if certain grip types should be worked before or after others, or if it doesnt really make a difference.

This is a good question. I think it depends much on your goals, strengths & weaknesses, but I also think it's good to mix it up regularly. I think hand strength is one of those things that if you have it in one area it will carry over to the other. i.e. stronger wrists will benefit your crush, a good crush will carry help your pinch, etc. To what degree each aspect carry's over to another will be different but I think having a strong crush gives you a good basis for everything else. To me, the crush is like the "squat" of the lower arm strength.

Thats a great way to think of it! Thanks.

I find it works best when I do grippers and pinch together, and then RT separately a few days later.
