tja Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 Thanks Matt, your package I received today is awesome! Black JH G5 bolts (1/4" x 5"), 3/8" x 7" National brand HRS, and 5/16" x 7" hard stainless. I was going to rest this week but after I saw these I knew that it ain't gonna happen After warmups, I took the first down DO. These bolts are evil, I'd say they're harder than 5.5" FBBC square stainless especially at the crush. http://www.gripboard.com/index.php?autocom...si&img=8564 Next I did one DU and it was hard. http://www.gripboard.com/index.php?autocom...si&img=8565 I tried one reverse, but only got it to 10 degrees or so. My shoulder wasn't warmed up properly and hurt a bit. Then I tried the HRS DO style. Kink felt relatively easy, but the bend radius is crazy wide and it froze just above 3 inch mark. I felt very warmed up after this, and as the kink felt easyish, I decided to give it a go reverse style. Fought maybe 10 minutes and I got it, at least very close. Very happy about this one. http://www.gripboard.com/index.php?autocom...si&img=8566 At this point I was done. I'll save the stainless after I get a regular stainless. Quote
matthcarl Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 Awesome bends! Especially getting the HRS reverse. Are you kidding me??? I could be wrong, but I think that's got to be harder than the current bastards. BIEW should be easy for you this year Quote Name: Matt Carl Runner, Graphomaniac, Steel Bending Fiend

I could be wrong, but I think that's got to be harder than the current bastards. BIEW should be easy for you this year Thanks Matt. The back of my front hand is very sore today. I read your saying it's calibrated at 495 lbs. Tough it is, for sure, but the feel to it is so much different from CRS, like the Red nails. The funny thing is, that the 5.5" square FBBC's (both CRS and stainless) are easier to reverse for me than this, although they calibrate higher. I think I can utilize the double wraps to provide leverage in a different way with shorter stock than with longer when bending reverse. Anyone else noticed this? Quote
