climber511 Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 (edited) If you could have one person to be your coach to prepare you for an all around grip contest - who would you choose? I don't care how strong he is personally at all - just who you believe would be able to take you the furthest towards your goals. Rules - you can't pick different guys for each segment of grip - pick one guy to coach it all. bencrush Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 Thanks to the guys who voted for me:) It's nice to be remembered once in a while. I often think of the guys who taught me and gave selflessly of their time and helped me climb up the ranks. Quote

The Natural Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 I've trained with Eric. Trained with Chad. Trained with A.C. Trained with Paul. Really, my training partners past and present (and this is for any sport) are the ones I have primary allegiance to. Everyone else is in a distant second place. All great training partners, and I've enjoyed seeing how they differ in their training styles and methods. -Rex Quote "It would be simpler if they had two classes: open and handicapped. cberg Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 Im gonna say Zach Coulter. Since Ive joined the board, the guy has answered all my questions and then some! I also think Ben would be a great coach too Quote Caolan Berg age: 21 height: 5'8 weight: 200
vikingsrule92 Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 This one's tough. Although I'd like to pick a guy like Chad who I'm sure, is a freaking training genius, I'm going with Aaron Corcorran with Paul Knight in a VERY close second. Both of these guys have helped me a lot with various training advice for grip and lifting over the last 2 years and 1 year respectively. Quote
Pancake Sprawl Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 ANYBODY! lol, i just need someone who has a strong grasp of the basics because i'm still a weak newb and haven't trained with anyone who knows what they're doing lol. Darco Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQlHTWnSXLYThe chick in this video. -Rex I was in the mash pit for Mastodon this summer and Brian Posehn (the guy between David and that chick) was right behind me the whole time. 6'6" 300+lbs and funny looking as all hell. I saw his stand up routine the next day. I would vote for Fedor Emelianenko as my coach, or Ben Edwards. It's a toss up. Quote "What I do tests my endurance. cptnamazin Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 I'm gonna agree with Matt and say Brendan would make a good coach. He's the one that got me involved in this madness. He's a good teacher, he knows what he's doing, and he's at the perfect strength level where he's strong enough to show me how to do stuff, but not such a retardedly huge amount stronger than me that it seems like i'll never catch up, like some of the guys on this board. So that'd keep me motivated to keep trying, without overwhelming me and making me look like a complete puny little wuss. Quote I want to be built like a brick shithouse.
