Grippster Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 I was just thinking the other day, the HG400/500 were limited edition grippers that were expensive to buy and many of them were bought for a collection. Could it be that, just like the SG/Beast grippers they were not meant to be taken seriously? I'm actually kind of afraid to close the 500 now, because some guy on youtube claims something broke and cut his wrists and also Clay said the handles came unglued on the 500. This would also explain why the 400s season so much. If HG didn't expect anyone to use them perhaps that explains it. I've seen multiple 500 closes that were awsome, however. Any thoughts? Quote
mobsterone Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 Yes: man up. Neither of my 400 or 500 have broken or come unglued. Get to work. Quote Steve Gardener, British 2006/2008/2009/2010 champ, 117.5kg 2HP, Euro 2008 & 2010 champ
jsmiley Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 I've seen a decent amount of closes with the bonecrusher 400, and some chest crushes with the 500, and I haven't seen any problems with them so far other than the 400 seasoning down a bunch. Quote
Grippster Posted March 2, 2009 Author Posted March 2, 2009 I'm expecting the 500 to season down so there will be less tension on the handles anyways. But yes Mobster, I probably should man up. To this day I'm afraid to do a chest crush with the spring facing upwards for fear of the spring snapping. Quote
cptnamazin Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 I've done hundreds of chest crushes with my BC 500. No problems here. Quote I want to be built like a brick shithouse. Like, seriously, I want people to walk up to me, newspaper in hand, and ask the bloke standing next to me, "Where's the door?"
