python
My question is how does one train specifically for finger/grip strength ? Do you pinch grip, use the rolling thunder bar, or toss a weighted bag and grab it alternately with both hands? Any suggestions would be appreciated? I am looking for functional strength for martial arts training. Thanks for all ideas/suggestions

amaury
You can add towel chins, it should help you to grab your opponent's wear.

"D"
Ironmind's Eagle Loops are good and you might want to consider their Outer Limits too, though you'd probably get just as good results from manual resistance.
Rick Walker
Dont forget to walk your sledgehammer 3 or more times a week. I just re-discovered this and I am in love- Your fingers will thank you- Rick Walker :hehe
Guest mg6680
I think the best finger exercise (and one that doesnt require any extra equip other than plates) is the rim/reverse rim lift. Rim lift a 100lb plate in ea hand (fingers only) than do a farmers walk or DL for singles. Reverse it for the thumb. Its very taxing on the fingers and similar to the benefits from the eagle loops, ring lift, etc. Put a loading pin through the plate if you need more weight. A suggestion to me was to also vary the widths of the rim for different variations. Try a farmers walk or two like this at the end of your next workout - youll like it.
