Bill Piche
Gazza, did you make this dumbbell? Rumor has it that the Staver foundry had to work pretty hard to get a really good match (size, weight, etc.).
jimwylie1
Wanna Gazza got the dumbbell from Nathan Holle. I believe it came from the same batch that the Holle's other two dumbells came from, as well as the one Chris James owns. Is this right Chris/Gazza? Looking at the picture, the handle looks small Gazza. Either that or Jim has the BIGGEST hands I have ever seen! He's got a gap in between the handle and his hand (so it appears) and yet he appears to be fully around the handle?? Maybe it's just the picture angle? I just happened to have a real Inch Replica done by Staver Foundry sitting in my garage (these are done for Sorinex and IronMind) and my hand is not small and I can't fit my hand around it fully. What I would call a big gap in my mind. I can post a picture of mine with my hand around it and also a tape clearly showing the circumference if anyone is interested. Guest NathanHolle
Great Lift Jim, Gazza we hope it won't be long before your lifting it yourself. Nathan

OldGuy
I would like to see a pic too, me being a born sceptic. I can more than encircle a RT handle which is also black and 2 3/8'' diameter but my hand does not make it look that small.

We know my replica has been seen by many at the AOBS dinner, the gripboard table guys, etc. (from the same company, mold, etc.)
Bill Piche
Here's just one image that shows the size of the inch replica by the Staver Foundry.
OldGuy
Now that handle looks exactly the scale of an RT handle compared to your hand wrist and forearm. You appear to have a large wrist and forearm too.
Tom of Iowa2
looks like a #### big wrist and forearm!
mobsterone
But a short thumb. My hands are quite large and I have compared them with Jims. In fact I seem to recall David Horne bringing it up at a comp. Jims has very long fingers and I would estimate has another 1/4 to 1/3 of an inch in length more than me but doesn't have big broad and or meaty palms. Jim, get the tape out. In all he would still have to practise a little, long fingers or not.
jimwylie1
Outrageous! You've really hurt my feelings boys!! Almost sounds like you are trying to discredit my feat of pure power? I'll get a pic of the bell, my hand and a tape measure round if it's really such a big deal. Just take it for what it is - a supreme demonstration of power!! gazza
Jim I could not agree with you more. Just cause the Gazza, Chris,Nathan,Craig and Gavin bells are the real monty ie:-2/3.8 handle as opposed to 2/4.7 or 2.5. Good job its only plastic a Jim! ??? jimwylie1
Relax guys I'll get the pics and one of me with a rolling thunder handle too. I can just get my finger and thumb to touch on both the rolling thunder and the Gazza bell for what it's worth. Gazza wasn't particulaly quick taking that pic and I had been holding it for quiet some time when that shot was took, so my hand was probably coming open and I was about to drop it!! You'll find my hand length in a past post on hand size if anyone cares.
Guest NathanHolle
Hello, Out of interest - all handles on the dumbbell's we made are the same, 7.5inches circumference 4 inches long. Gavin Holle

Nothing like taking things in the negative (like all the people who seem to come out of hiding to throw flames and cry). Most be a a cultural thing? Like I said Jim, you must have a very large hand as it makes the handle look small. That's all there is to that.
