Jamal did that 172 Inch lift with no warmup and the workout before did a 158 Lb. Inch easily with both right, then left hand. Later he tried a pair of 172s together (a bit much) and they didn't move. There is another 17 year old here "Drippy" that slams the #2 for several credit card reps and plans to do the #3 cert before becoming 18 ( he gave the #3 a pretty good ride yesterday the first time he tried it). I don,t know why, but a bunch of the "kids" here have a pretty good grip.RS

Wow, I didn't know you could get a 172in. dumbbell...although, now that I think of it, a 172in db is pretty much the same thing as a really long barbell :laugh J/K, but, just a quick question: How hard is this compared to the same amount of weight on the RT? Is it harder or easier? Because once, a few weeks back, I made a 170lb attempt on the RT, and got it up a few inches before it slipped. On that attempt, I wasn't using chalk, and had just gotten done grip training the day b4, so I MAY, repeat MAY , have been capable of doing it better, idk for sure...just curious to see how I'd do on the inch, though...anybody know?

I would say you need to do at least clsoe to 200 on the RT to get the Inch.

Wanna, Jamal is about 6' tall,215. His bench according to him is 420 or so. He hands are pretty large if I had to geuss 8 3/8"- 8 1/2" But, I will measure them accurately. He tried a gripper but had not much skill or feel on his first try. I will give him some instruction and see what potential he has. He has a real deep voice and walked in the otherday and in that deep bass voice asked me to "squeeze" his hand during a hand shake. Hesitating a bit I gave what I thought was a good effort and he felt very, very strong. When I felt like I "wasn't getting through" by the calm look on his face he then said "ok thats enough". I think with the level of strength I felt in his hands he would be a candidate for a ccs #3 and double 172# Inch deadlift within a few months to a year.RS

Jamal just walked in and we placed or hands against each other. his hands are not thick, pretty average width on palm and with a steel ruler measured twice at 8 1/4." ( they sure look long to me). At the same time mine measured a hair under 7 7/8" on the same ruler Jamil said he is 17, 6'2" tall and 220lb.RS
