Pancake Sprawl
i have a question. has there ever been a CoC that was a lefty? i understand that the physics of the gripper make it easier for righty's but i just wanted to know if any man closed the #3 and/or #4 with his left hand. i'm a lefty and i feel my left hand is tons stronger than my right. and i really don't feel the difference of it being harder on my left then right hand. another question i have is, if someone does close either gripper with their left, does that mean they're stronger since the gripper is made for rightys? Quote Name: Chris Height: 6'5" Weight: 315-325lbs Goals: Rep #3, close #4 one day.

As a lefty myself I don't see how you can say the COC's are made for righties. Are you basing this on the position of the ends of the springs? If yes do they really make that much of a difference? As far as our hand preference, me being lefty all that means from what I have seen throughout my life is I am much more coordinated with my left, however when it comes to strength I tend to be more dominate on the right. Our preferences from right to left and vice versa can vary a great deal. Not to mention someone being able to close any COC with one hand versus the other once again varies person to person. Magnus
I´ve read that Magnus Samuelsson closed the 4 with his left hand, and did 2 reps with his right hand. I read that too. Quite possibly the only person in the world to do reps on the no.4. Hmmm...he can bench 595 for a double like nothing, curl 308lb for reps, close the no.3 like it's a toy, and rep the no.4...probably the most diverse list of strength ever. I.e, Of all the no.4 closers, I doubt any can bench 595 x 2, or curl 308 x 4, and of all the people that can do the last 2, none of them can close the no.4. I'd hate be in a fight with him while he was mad Quote ((((((—————)))))) PBs 430 raw bench 615 raw dead Inch DL - both hands Blob, Blob50 & Fatman DL - both hands

Tim71
Pat P. is a left hander and he's closed a #3 in both hands at the same time. He seems to think that grippers are better suited for rightys I've read but I'm not anywhere near enough expert to say. If Magnus would hit it hard and heavy, no doubt he could do some super-serious stuff in the grip world. Tim
Mlstrass
Only thing I've noticed with LH as that the gripper tends to torque sideways when shutting it. If I don't get it set decent then it will never close as my motion is more of a twist then a close. I've always done dogleg in my palm LH, but I'm going to try the other way today and see if that helps.
Magnus
Sum Gabriel (sp?) just cert'd lefty. It's Gabriel Sum, and yes, he did cert. lefty, and he told me he's left handed...if you watch his videos on youtube, it doesn't seem to affect his closes or anything. I'm cross-dominant, so my right and left hands are the same strength, and I really don't have much of a hard time doing them lefty. The handle closes a tad to the right, which makes it a bit harder to get the handles to click, but besides that, the close itself is pretty much the same, so it's not that big of a deal for me. Magnus' were full reps. when the hell did magnus ever do full reps with a #4 the only video on youtube it looked like he didn't even get it closed and it was super deep set. I mean he is strong guy but the talk of magnus and joe kinny feats of hand strength become more and more exaggerated as years go by it seems. Dave mortan I think had strongest crush of anyone ever, and had multiple proof of it also only one to complete mm ladder.
Magnus
Yeah, I'm not saying Magnus is better than Dave, but Dave's reps were only opening a fraction of an inch between closes. Then again, like you said, Magnus used a deep set, but it was open between reps. Just a toss-up, kinda open to debate. But, for someone who's not a full-bore gripster, Magnus is insane. If he decided to go all-out on grip-strength, it would be interesting to see what he was capable of... In that video if I remember he only got the first one closed and for only a split 2nd since you heard the click I think, though 2nd rep I'm almost positive he failed. You couldn't see the close at all really, mortan repped out near 4 parallel closes and held it much longer. Not sure if you ever tried a #4 I have and its freakish to imagine it being closed with one hand let alone repped. Also magnus did train grip how do you think he got the #4 he trained with the grippers a lot, as well as years of farm work for hands and regular strong man grip training. And no, I don't own a no.4 YET, but I'm buying a BB Grand Elite, so it's the same thing. It'll be here in a few days. I'll probably never close it, I just want it as a souvenir... speedy
Wasn't aware of his name or who he is. I haven't been in here for awhile; many of you guys are very familiar with each other while I am not. My point simply put in the question, did anyone see it? Is that not clear or something? Not being a prick but I don't think it was a bad question to ask.
