timiacobucci
http://www.gripboard.com/index.php?autocom...si&img=7043 I bent some g2's today. I can do the 5/16" x 6" BJC G2 bolts pretty easy so I got some 5.5" ones next to them at the hardware store. Wrapped one up and it was a monster, looked at it after and it was marked BGG. I cut down some BJC's and got a 5" one and can barely kink a 5.5" BGG. The 5" BJC was pretty off center too, I'm pretty sure I can get a 4.5" of that one. I haven't tried a 5.5" bastard yet but I suspect this BGG may be even harder than a comparable length bastard, I will try one sometime soon and report back. If there are more at the hardware store and I grab a bunch is anyone willing to calibrate them if I ship them out to ya? I am very curious. Oh I also wobbled an edgin, just a tad, but it is more than the zero deflection it has always given me before so I am pretty psyched about that. matthcarl
I'll have to look for some of those BGG bolts. I think I have bent at least four different 6x5/16 brands (BL, FNL TY, 307A, and J markings) and I didn't find any of them particularly difficult. That said, my one attempt at a 5" 307A stumped me. foxyj75
Tim, I had a similar experience the other night. I was preparing for an upcoming show, and was planning to bend a couple G2 5/16'' x 6'' bolts in the show. So, I went to my local Lowes and picked up a few. After I got home, I found that I already had some that had come with my FBBC advanced bag with BL on the head. Tried one of those BL's, and it melted like butter. Tried one of the ones I got at Lowes with HKT on the head, and WOW!! Kink was as hard as a big shiny, and the rest was comparable to a grand bastard!! The BL bolt looked like a "U". The HKT looked like a sharp "V"!!! Biggest variance in G2's I have seen yet!!

That being said, I've finished off an HKT 6er in 2 sessions
Alawadhi
Yep those things are hard. I bent a FBBC Shiny in about 3 minutes but still have to crush my 5" G2 (but maybe thats because it's 0.75" offcenter ).
TravisRush
Man, I just thought I was weak! I'm not alone in those dang HKT's...it's all I have...I need some galvanized ones!
Bossie 308
Home Depot here in Jersey has the box marked BJC with the BGG inside.Maybe they are all switching over?.......
matthcarl
That's some weird variance. So BGG and HKT are harder? I've got to find some now! I think it's funny thta the BL bolts are so easy...if you look a tEric's calibration thread, he's done a ton of different 3/8" bolts and the BL came out on top by a pretty big margin (and that's the only brand of 3/8x7 G2 I've found so far). timiacobucci
I remember trying some hkt's and I didn't think they were that hard. I don't remember where I got them but maybe it isn't necessarily the brand that is the major factor, maybe different batches at different times are drastically different too. I wish I could find 6" or longer BGG ones I got, it's ok though I will get that 5.5" eventually. It's just weird because I have bent a 5" g2 now and can probably do a 4.5" but that BGG at 5.5" will be a much more impressive achievement. In fact I will probably be able to crush that and the shiny down about the same time I think. The 3/8" g2's I have are BMB. Anyone else seen these before? They seem pretty easy for 3/8", I have moved one of the cheat kinked ones I use for isos before at 6". Anyways that is some crazy variance, it makes g2's a much trickier thing to use for progression. foxyj75
Tim, I think you are right about the variance being not in the brands so much as in different batches. I bent a G2 5/16 HKT in my show last night, and it was a good deal harder than the one I bent at home. Apparently not much batch consistency in the G2's I guess. Tim71
Of the 1/4 inch bolts I've had cal'd, "BL" bolts were consistantly the lowest at 185 lbs and HKT were consistantly the highest at 245. My hands have always confirmed this, at least on the 1/4 inch ones. Tim

I've gotten a 5/16x5" HKT G2 to 70 degrees and a BL to 25 and it's one big curve Perhaps it's just the time of day then
TravisRush
Yeah, for the 1/4" HKT's it's so much tougher to kink them the BL ones...I just bought a few "NY 307A" 1/4" G2's and I will let you know how they compare...probably none as tough as the HKT's
