Florian Kellersmann Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Great pinch, looks very explosive! Congrats for mastering this great feat of grip strength! By the way, you have a sick chin up goal!! Quote ARMS ARE FOR ARMWRESTLING "Always give your workouts cool names to fire you up!" - Devon Larratt

kilkkinen Posted October 31, 2007 Author Posted October 31, 2007 Congratulations Matti, what type of training did you use to attain this great feat? I do a lot of 2HP and 1HP. Also Leoko plate pinching 5*5kg´s Leoko 50kg + some extra weights. But if you want to achiew this feat, do a lot 2HP and 1HP. Also dont forget to do plate pinching, because it need extra force to lift 2 plates together, than same weight in solid weight. My onehand pinch take off PR is 48 kgs. In my opinion you have to pinch one hand 6-8 kgs more than, what is your PR platepinching. In my case 2*20kg lift = 48kg take off 1HP Quote Matti Heiskanen

Three 25s with old Yorks feels fairly comfortable for me. They are the first three matching plates I tried and I was able to do them the first day I trained with them (I'd tried non-matching plates that were different sizes a couple of times, but couldn't break the ground). I think recent training to lift the Blob helped me. Two 45s is a completely different story. I've had plenty of opportunities to try them, with different brands of plates, varying widths, different textures, but have never budged them, it just feels wrong, too narrow and too long (and too heavy, of course). I really respect you for achieving this feat Matti, in my opinion it is harder than three 25s. Two 45s is something most of us will have to really work for, and not everyone will achieve it. Thank you about those nice words I agree, that plate pinching, if we talk about, these there event: 3*10kgs, 5*5kgs or 2*20kgs the last one is hardest feat. For me it was the hardest. First one I mange to do 3*10kgs, then 5'5kgs and finally the 2*20kg. Next challenge is try to lift 20kg and 25kgs together, total 45kgs! Hope some day it will happen. Negative holds with bigger plates, than you can lift, is very helpfull to raise your powerlevel Quote Matti Heiskanen

Somebody has stronger thin pinch than wide pinch. Quote Matti Heiskanen
