Bill Piche Posted August 19, 2002 Posted August 19, 2002 http://www.grippage.com If someone posts in this thread and asks if he used stickum or hook grip or ad nauseum I am gonna scream! :p Thanks to Arnie Persson for the photos. Quote
David Horne Posted August 19, 2002 Posted August 19, 2002 Two great pics of a very strong guy, performing two mighty impressive feats of grip strength. David Quote

mobsterone Posted August 19, 2002 Posted August 19, 2002 Who's that handsome stranger in the background making brillient (if I might be so bold) suggestions to enable young Jimmy to make the lift - why its Mobsterone!! he he Congrats Jim - you the blob daddy (today and maybe tomorrow - how fickle etc...) ps: Stickum or hookum? :p Quote Steve Gardener, British 2006/2008/2009/2010 champ, 117.5kg 2HP, Euro 2008 & 2010 champ
OldGuy Posted August 19, 2002 Posted August 19, 2002 How wide across is a blob gripped that way ? Quote Not afraid to ruffle feathers!
mobsterone Posted August 19, 2002 Posted August 19, 2002 It felt like 5 inches - give or take Quote Steve Gardener, British 2006/2008/2009/2010 champ, 117.5kg 2HP, Euro 2008 & 2010 champ
David Horne Posted August 19, 2002 Posted August 19, 2002 It is 4 1/16" wide at the top, sloping out to 5 1/2" in the middle. The diameter is 7 3/8", and the circumference is 23 1/4". There are not many (5 now?) who can pinch lift this monster, and probably not too many who can lift it the first time they set eyes upon it, the day after a six event grip contest! Even John Brookfield couldn't lift it the first time he was presented with it. If Jim improves at the same speed he has in the last 12 months, then I will be waving goodbye to first place. Whether this is to him, Nick Mckinless, one of the welsh boys or an oversea raider who knows. I shall keep training him up, David Quote
Guest Posted August 19, 2002 Posted August 19, 2002 Amazing V-bar Jim - not to be beaten for a long time I should imagine. Same with David's Table Top Wrist Curl all be it a partial range of motion Nick Quote
terminator Posted August 20, 2002 Posted August 20, 2002 Nice work Jim! Quote Real name: Pat Povilaitis
bseedot Posted August 20, 2002 Posted August 20, 2002 Yes, very nice work Jim. I'm very happy that I can say I witnessed both lifts! Wanna, you know better than to think that Jim used a hook grip on the Blob! :hehe BC. Quote The cure for boredom is curiousity. There is no cure for curiousity.
Guest 115-1005574997 Posted August 20, 2002 Posted August 20, 2002 Eh Jim..... did u use super glue mate? Fantastic "out of the bag lift" and considering what youd done the previous day too!!!! Well done mate. That puts you up there in the all time feats of strength (as Dave said, not even John Brookfield could do it first time) and I recon the old man has some serious competition next year Quote
Guest Harlan Jacobs Posted August 20, 2002 Posted August 20, 2002 Amazing lifts Jim ! I just started doing v-bar a few months ago. Very impressive ! Quote
jimwylie1 Posted August 20, 2002 Posted August 20, 2002 Thanks Guys. It was a good weekend Quote To those merry souls of other days- who again will make drinking a pleasure- who acheive contentment long before capacity- and who- whatever they may drink- prove able to carry it- and enjoy it- and remain gentlemen.
Guest baldy Posted August 22, 2002 Posted August 22, 2002 Nice lifts, Jim! In the vbar record pic you look like a lean Steve Justa. Must be the shades... Quote
