smitty Posted August 26, 2007 Author Posted August 26, 2007 We also had a very special guest today - SLIM "THE HAMMER MAN" FARMAN came to GGC today!!!! It was a great experience and Slim (and his wife Shirley) were very humble and generous. Tom Kelly also came and bent a number 5 horse shoe like a coat hanger. barbe705 Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 A great contest overall. It was a real treat to compete with everybody. Thanks to Jedd and Smitty for putting on a very well run comp. Between all the big lifts at the comp and the screwing around afterwards all I could think about on the drive back was starting some new training right away. A really great experience. madss Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 It was a great contest again put on by the Diesel guys. Slim showing up was one of those double take moments for all of us. Very inspiring to have the legend there in person. The contest was very close like always in both divisions. Everyone of the guys put up a great contest. amazing PR and numbers were being posted all day in both divisions. A few points about the contest: 1. Chris Rice can bend some stinking steel reverse style, don't let his I don't workout talk trick ya. I think he had big bend for the day. 2. John Eaton may be able to v-bar 200 lbs he just forgot too. 3. I think I can beat Chad I just have to get a lot stronger. 4. The only reason I won small hands again was because my forearm cramped up and I could not drop the RT. 5. buying a picture of Slim and one of the mighty Atom from Slim himself is truly a wonderful day. 6. more to come once I recover from the drive. Thanks to everyone that was there for making it another great GGC. Quote Scott George
