nockowt1 Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 I performed my first nail bend tonight (IM green). It was a lot easier than I was expecting. I tried the yellow nail and there was a world of difference. I'm looking for a beginner's bending program to help me accomplish my goal of bending the yellow. Quote Real Name: Kevin McFadden
gerryg Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 My advice to you is buy this e-book! http://www.thegripauthority.com/bending.htm There is also this article on the Diesel Crew site! http://www.dieselcrew.com/articles/gregdavebend2.pdf Quote
Tim71 Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Nice job and welcome to the world of bending. Many different ideas out there about how to go about progressing. Isos are good, volume is good. Mostly, keep it fun for yourself so you stay on fire with it. Also, 3/16 square is a good bend before the 1/4 inch CRS round like the yellow. 1/4 inch hot rolled round is another good one. You'll get the yellow before you know it. Wrapping is important too. Took me a long time to realize that a good tight wrap really is the way to go. Keep at it. Tim Quote
matthcarl Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Excellent! I definitely recommend trying 3/16" square as well. It was definitely a stepping stone to the 1/4" stuff, though 1/4" seemed out of this world for a while. Just don't give up! Quote Name: Matt Carl Runner, Graphomaniac, Steel Bending Fiend
Alawadhi Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 (edited) Just buy the beginners bag from FBBC http://www.fatbastardbarbellco.com/BENDERSBAG.html AND don't forget to buy leather pads also. BUT, I suggest you keep using Ironmind pads until you can bend a red using ironmind pads. THEN go use leather pads. Don't worry the red will fall very soon. Maybe 6 month maximum. Learn proper DO bending. Watch videos on youtube and you will learn. The pain at first must be on your index finger. If you had the pain then your form is correct. Can't really explain it but watch online videos its much better. Edited August 28, 2007 by Alawadhi Quote Read about me in my biography.
