kerbjr Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 My wifes cousin MAtt came over today for a visit. We ended up in the shed doing some bending. Now this is the absolute first time this guy has done any kind of bending and here is what he got. DU he killed a medium 60d nail, the equal of a grade 5 6in bolt, and DO he got a 5in grade 8 bolt to at least 35 degrees......It was the only length I had available, Im sure he would have smoked an 8in easy...Too bad I didnt have any reds...Also his first attempt at grippers and he got my stout #2 easy both hands and gave the#3 a scare........Dude has got some serious potential......This is the best newbie bender I have ever taught, previous best was a guy who got a grade 8...............Yikes I need to go workout so I can stay ahead ........BK BTW the wraps were less than 1in and no chalk as we were just playing around......................... matthcarl Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 With a name like Matt, the guy must have something going for him Anyway, I'm impressed and hope he keeps it up. Quote Name: Matt Carl Runner, Graphomaniac, Steel Bending Fiend
cptnamazin Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 insane. well done. Quote I want to be built like a brick shithouse. Like, seriously, I want people to walk up to me, newspaper in hand, and ask the bloke standing next to me, "Where's the door?"
gazza Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Excellent work and he is also lucky in finding a great teacher tell him congrats and to keep it up. Quote "There he goes. Tim71 Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 That is one stout dude. That's one of the best starts I've heard of. Most can't get a G2 bolt first time out or at least that's my experience. Tell him I'm impressed. Tim Quote
dimmers Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Very impressive first time bending! the guy has loads of potential, do you think he'll keep going with it? Quote
kerbjr Posted August 22, 2007 Author Posted August 22, 2007 Not sure if I can convince him to train, he is vey laid back about the whole thing. Would be/will be interesting to see how he progresses.....HE lives next door (about a mile away.....country speaking neighbor) and we used to lift weight together years ago (18-20) so hopefully the bug has bitten............I will pass on the congrats from the GB..................BK Quote If the mind can conceive it, then the body can acheive it.
